Remedial Massage

Massage1.jpgManual therapy refers to treatment delivered via a hands-on approach.

This often starts as part of your assessment, as your Physiotherapist or Remedial Massage therapist assesses how your joints move, the tightness of your muscle tissue, and any protective responses to movement (e.g., catching, guarding, limping). You will benefit from the inclusion of a hands-on assessment, as it provides additional information and yields a much more accurate overall assessment, leading to a customised treatment plan for you.

Hands-on treatment can involve;

  • Manual therapy - joint mobilisation and manipulation
  • Soft tissue massage - trigger point, relaxation, deep, remedial massage
  • Dry Needling - pain relief, muscle relaxation
  • Strengthening - resisted guidance exercises, Pilates, hydrotherapy
  • Movement training - correcting movement patterns & habits
  • Posture - exploring alternative, comfortable and sustainable postures
